Worcester Observer Podcast (15th May 2019)
Wednesday May 15, 2019
Wednesday May 15, 2019
Journalism matters! Without local newspapers, like the Worcester Observer, important stories aren’t told, council meetings go uncovered and communities are left without a voice.
With so much ‘fake news’ and unchecked rumour pervading social media and unregulated websites nowadays too, it’s more important than ever for our communities to have voices they can trust – and we all know, regional newspapers are the most trusted source of news!
Listen as editor Rob George and writer Claire Bullivant have their say. They also take you through this week's main Worcester news stories and the best things to see and do this week in town. Enjoy!

The Bully and Varn Show
Friday May 10, 2019
Friday May 10, 2019
The Bully and Varn Show - not so much a show, but a slightly worrying insight into how many elderly people are failing to either understand or even cope with a world that is constantly changing at an eye watering pace.
Bully met Varn more than fifty-three years ago. That was long before the internet, colour television or even electric toothbrushes. Over half a century later, as they shuffle noisily and reluctantly into life’s slow lane, they take a long hard look at what is going on in the world today, and are not impressed.
The weekly ‘show’, which is apparently called a Podcast, is an hour’s worth of unplanned, unscripted and probably unhinged banter. Amongst it you may find points of interest, facts that might illuminate your darkness, or just something to make you smile.
We enjoy making it - hope that you’ll enjoy listening to it.
